Pollution of the environment by industrial waste is one of the urgent problems today. Therefore, for the population living near the storage of radioactive waste, it is important to study its impact on the human body for many years and determine ways to solve this problem.
The article presents an overview of the issues of ensuring radiation safety in the areas of radioactive waste warehouses, data on the current state of radioactive waste storage sites in the country. It also provides the characteristic of the ways of movement of radionuclides, mainly in the objects of the uranium series environment, as well as an overview of the main methods for assessing the content of radionuclides in the human body and calculating radiation doses. The main attention was paid to the determination of uranium in biological samples (hair, nails, urine).
